EASTMAN JUDGED ART EXHIBITION
The Eastman art exhibition is a prestigious event for artists who reside in the Eastman area (Eastern Manitoba bounded by the US border on the south, highway 75, East Perimeter and Lake Winnipeg on the west and east to the Ontario border).
An organizing committee has been formed as an adjunct to the Niverville Arts and Culture Group and is well into the planning for this exciting event. The venue will be fabulous, as the Niverville Heritage Centre (pictured below) has offered to enter into a community partnership with the Arts and Culture Group to host the exhibition at the Centre, an exquisite location that is highly sought after for group events such as weddings. The art exhibition will also be held in conjunction with the Niverville Olde Tyme Country Fair (June 10 and 11), which will provide an extra spectator draw for fair weekend as well as increased exposure for the artists displaying their work. All facets of original art will be accepted for the exhibition and entries will be judged by artists selected through the Manitoba Arts Council. Our slate of judges includes Wendy Kroeker, Pauline Braun, Dr. Mary Anne Steggles and Richard Holden .

There will be several special features included in this event. Students from all schools in the Eastman region have been invited to enter a School Exhibit and to visit the exhibition in class groups on Friday morning, June 10th. In addition, seniors groups from the Eastman region have been invited to tour the exhibition on that Friday afternoon, and enjoy a complimentary tea break with us. We will have a special guest during our tea. Dr. Steggles has offered to do a presentation about wood fired ceramics, a particular focus of her studies.
Finally, we will be offering two half day art workshops during the exhibition. These will take place on Saturday, June 11 and will not only provide an opportunity for artists to learn techniques from Wendy Kroeker but will take place within the exhibition space. This will afford a unique opportunity for spectators to see art in action as our workshop participants apply what they have learned. Please see the link to the workshops on this site.
We look forward to hosting this very special event, which along with the Fair will make Niverville a true destination magnet for the weekend of June 10 and 11.
